Interstitial cystitis (IC)[edit | edit source]
Interstitial cystitis (IC), is a type of bladder pain syndrome (BPS) featuring chronic pain of unknown cause affecting the bladder and pelvic floor.
If interstitial cystitis is an autoimmune disease, as many authorities appear to think that it is, it might be expected to respond to helminthic therapy, and there are a few individuals with this condition who have reported experiencing benefits after introducing helminths. Included amongst these individuals are several people with a number of overlapping conditions that include interstitial cystitis.
On a side note, my interstitial cystitis has improved to almost 100% remission since start of hookworm therapy, but this might also be the result the entocort. Either way, I'm hopeful this improvement will remain after I taper in the next couple weeks. (Posted to the now defunct Yahoo Helminthic Therapy forum.)
I’ve had IC for 11 years. It was fairly severe, causing constant pain, a frequent urge to pee, incomplete bladder evacuation and urinary incontinence. I took 5 NA and most symptoms of IC resolved in 2 weeks. Since my second treatment (with 10), I've been symptom free. (Via email)
