Talk pages

There is a talk page associated with every page on the site, as well as a personal talk page. These are for users (editors) to communicate with each other about the wiki’s contents, to discuss issues and get advice from other users, etc. Obviously, users can also email or message each other using other platforms, but it can be useful to have discussions about the contents of the wiki preserved in the talk pages for the benefit of other users.

Talk pages can be accessed by clicking on the "discussion" tab at the top of the page. Then you simply edit this page as you would any other wiki page in order to add your comment.

Start your comments below any other comments on the page, and add a heading, e.g., == Hookworm dosing ==, in the same way that you would when adding material to any other page.

To address or involve a specific user, add their name(s) using this markup: "User:…| …" in double square brackets. E.g., for me, this would be: "User:John|John" within double square brackets.

When your message is complete, sign yourself simply with four tildes (~ is a tilde). The MediaWiki software will substitute your name and the date for the four tildes.

Then click on either “Show preview” or “Save changes”.

Talking to an individual user on their personal talk page

To see all the users who have contributed to a page, and to talk to any one of them individually, go to “View history” in the menu bar and click on ”talk” next to the user’s name. This will take you to that user’s talk page. Or a user’s talk page can be accessed from the list of users: [1]

To create a new message, click on the “Edit” button in the menu bar.

A helminth that lives in the small intestine. Necator americanus (NA) is the only hookworm species used in helminthic therapy. Its microscopic larvae are applied periodically to the skin.
